As we get older, the veins on the back of our hands often become more visible and sometimes appear bulging or ropelike. This is due to the skin on the back of the hand getting thinner and subcutaneous fat loss as you age. While prominent veins don’t typically cause any physical issues, they can add years to your appearance. Fortunately, these veins can be safely eliminated through different treatments, leaving you with younger-looking hands. Dr. Lawrence Presant of Arizona Vein Specialists has over 30 years of knowledge and experience to help you treat your hand vein needs.
Treating Hand Veins
When you arrive at Arizona Vein Specialists you can be sure that you are in capable hands. The staff will help you with every step of your treatment including the pretreatment setup and post-therapy care. Dr. Presant will discuss with you the different treatment options available and help you decide which is best for you.
Sclerotherapy Treatment
Sclerotherapy is a treatment for getting rid of varicose and spider veins. Arizona Vein Specialists offers multiple ultrasound-guided treatments for the safe and effective removal of vascular conditions.
Sclerotherapy refers to the process of injecting a solution into the spider and varicose veins. This solution causes the veins to close, and seal shut. The blood flow is then redirected, and the closed veins are absorbed by the body naturally.
Other Therapies
Sclerotherapy is our primary mode of treating unsightly hand veins. However, other treatment options are available. These are best discussed after an initial consultation has been conducted.
After Care
After receiving hand vein treatments, you will be able to return to your normal daily activities with little to no downtime. There will be minimal bruising and occasionally mild swelling for 24 hours post-treatment.
Insurance
Arizona Vein Specialists will work with you and your insurance provider to offer you the best care possible. It is recommended to contact your insurance provider beforehand to understand what treatments are covered under your policy. Many procedures are deemed cosmetic by the Insurers and therefore are not covered
